Friday 11 November, Festival of the Arts 2022 was an event we are so proud to have coordinated. The evening was full of smiling faces and demonstrated what an amazing community spirit we have here in the Glen Innes area. We would like to thank everyone who came and supported this event from the local schools, local dance companies, market stall holders, volunteers, family and friends who made our students feel like super stars.A big shout out must go to our very own Mrs McKean for her vision and dedication to this project. We would also like to acknowledge all the staff from Glen Innes Public School, Red Range and the Glen Innes High School who supported the evening who helped from the set up to the pack down.
GIPS students were on display through out the evening and they shone like the stars they are. Students had created group art displays, personal artworks which were sold to the community with all funds to be donated to Red Cross. Every student had practiced their stage routine and the famous 'Foot Loose' to perform in front of the crowd. There where students who performed multiple numbers through out the night, included in GIPS School Band, High School Dance Group, Combined Choir and GIHS Band. SRC students and Library Monitors manned market stalls.
It was a night we all will remember and it really did go off with a bang. We can't wait to do it all again and embrace that community spirit again.
