Anzac Day
DAWN SERVICE
On ANZAC day our school captains represented GIPS with pride at the early morning dawn service. While birds sang and the sun peeked through the grey clouds, they braved the cold morning chill and demonstrated respect for the occasion, during poems, presentations, prayers and even a Haka.Congratulations on your representation of our school at the important event.
STREET MARCH
A large group of students represented GIPS at the ANZAC street march on Saturday morning. An Airforce jet passed over promptly at 11am, surprising the students and crowd watching. Students marched proudly down our main street to the parklands and our town war memorial. Speeches, poems, prayers and musical items were part of the service and our GIPS leaders read the Ode at the end of the service. Thanks must go to parents who took the time out of their long weekend to bring well presented students to participate in this important event on the Nations Calendar. These events don’t happen single handedly. Many thanks to staff who attended and helped with the supervision of students.
